PRINCETON PASSENGER ELEVATOR UPDATE – OCTOBER 13 2022

Kone arrived early this morning to install the brake assembly that the manufacturer sent for the elevator. During the installation process, it was determined that the manufacturer sent the incorrect parts for the elevator. Therefore, Kone is unable to perform the work today and tomorrow’s inspection will need to be rescheduled.

The manufacturer will expedite the assembly of the brake system but it will still be a few weeks before the system is assembled, shipped and installed. Kone will then need to speak with the state inspector about its availability for the inspection, while stressing the urgency of the matter.

At present, we do not have hard dates for this work but Kone is looking at later this month for the work to take place and the work to be inspected.

Once we have specific dates for this work, an updated notice will be posted.

We are as frustrated with the delay as all of you and Management will work with residents to get much needed deliveries and moves scheduled as timely as possible on the Harvard side of the building, while working with our contractors on the various projects that also require use of the elevator.

This is definitely not the outcome we all had hoped for today. The delay will require additional patience from everyone and understanding that everything that can be done is being done to get the elevator back in service as quickly as possible. Thank you.
