In February, the Board of Managers approved the request from local Eagle Scout, Nate Linderman, to install a historical marker on our property. Nate’s project is to construct historical markers in Swarthmore in order to commemorate places of historical significance within the borough.
One is being installed on our property since the community sits on the site of the former Strath Haven Inn. This inn was a popular resort and social hub for many people during its heyday.
Nate’s Troop #112, will be installing the marker along Harvard Avenue, closer to Yale Avenue on Saturday, September 14 sometime between the hours of 11 am and 1 pm. Unfortunately, a more specific time cannot be given due to the scope of work involved with the installation of the markers throughout Swarthmore. Hopefully you will get to see the installation, if not, please look for it in your travels. We will be posting pictures of it once the installation is complete.
We wish to thank Nate and Troop #112 for recognizing our lovely community!
